Four hundred years of presence of Carmelites in India (1619-2019) was, no doubt, a fruit- ful season for the Church of India and for the Society. Surely it is very difficult to explore
all the multiple forms of fruitfulness contained in such a long and eventful period of time.
However, to be indifferent to them would be an existential failure to recognize the deep
roots serving as the source of the fruitfulness. The biennial meeting of the Indian Car- melite Research Forum (ICRF) in November 2019 took up the theme for its exploration
and discussion. The present volume, the fourth of the monograph series, collects some of
the results of that meeting such nine authors contributing their views.
