The General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops issued the preparatory document for the
XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops which will take place during
the month of October 2023 on the theme “For a Synodal Church: Communication,
Participation and Mission”. The Vademecum (or handbook) was likewise published to
guide the listening and discernment during the consultation phase in local churches.
